Inimitable Islands in the Sun

Why visit Seychelles

Sprinkled like gemstones in the warm Indian Ocean lie 115 white-sandy coral and granitic islands. The Seychelles Archipelago consists of iridescent reefs, unspoiled mangroves and pristine marine conservancies. A breathtaking getaway lapped by shades of turquoise and backed by lush greenery.

Why we love Seychelles

French Connection

The Islands of Seychelles pay homage to a French past. Through the language, food and architecture, the romantic flair of all things French adds to the overall ‘Joie de Vivre of this seductive destination. But it’s the Creole culture that shines through in the art, dance and music of the friendly Seychellois.

Drop Anchor

Spoilt for choice with so many idyllic isles to choose from need not be a problem if you choose to cruise. Be it a private catamaran, liveaboard or small ship you can leave your footprints on a different beach every day! Even island hopping is effortless with efficient ferries and flights as well as helicopter and speedboat connections.

Fine Fare

Adventurous eaters are in for a treat! But even picky eaters, vegetarians and vegans are well catered. Creative dishes made from juicy indigenous tropical fruits, the freshest bounties of the sea, piquant Creole flavours and natural ingredients will leave your tastebuds tantalized. Unique local street food is a-plenty in Victoria – best enjoyed on the beach watching the sunset.

Beach & Bush Blend

A bonus to picking Seychelles as your beach breakaway – it’s perfectly combinable with any of our East or Southern African safaris. Recommended as a post-safari extension, there is nothing like a few days of R&R on a tranquil beach in paradise where you can relive your captivating game experience whilst marvelling at an Indian Ocean sunset.

Our Seychelles highlights

Mahe is the main Island with Victoria its capital.  Standing proudly in the centre is a clock tower paying homage to Queen Victoria since 1903. The Sir Selwyn Clarke market has been alive with smells and sounds, colours and flavours with a welcoming vibe at every turn, for almost 200 years.

Learn about the largest seed in the world, the Coco-de-Mer, endemic to the Seychelles when you visit the Botanical Gardens Victoria. The popular Beau Vallon beach is perfect for water sports and an afternoon BBQ, this northwest part of the island is definitely not to be missed.

Morne Seychelles National Park covers around 20% of Mahe and makes for a great day of hiking with enchanting views. Take a 20-minute boat ride to St Anne National Marine Park and partake in a glass-bottom boat ride, scuba dive or snorkel.

The granite-crafted islands of La Digue and Praslin are the most developed and established for welcoming visitors. The former offers breathtaking beaches for ultimate relaxation, whilst on Praslin a visit to the Vallee de Mai (a UNESCO-site, a reserve comprising a uniquely-preserved natural palm forest) or a hike to the secluded Anse Lazio beach are a must.

Another exciting excursion is a visit to Curieuse Island to see the giant tortoise breeding program and discover one of the only places in the Seychelles where the famed Coco der Mer plant grows naturally.

Known as one of the best fishing spots in the world, anglers can’t do better than the islands of Alphonse and the Poivre.
