Oman’s port city of Muscat offers visitors both city and seaside delights. Here, the modern mixes well with the ancient and this can be seen in city’s skyline where a contemporary hotel sits not far from a traditional mosque. The most famous mosque, the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque extends its welcome by way of a paved entrance fit for a, well, Sultan and a green surrounding adding tranquility to the overall majestic ambience. Located 90 minutes from Muscat is the Bimah sinkhole. A 65m-deep pool of warm, turquoise water-filled limestone sinkhole and cave, and something not to be missed when in this area.
